Poksai

The Liberec ZOO has participated in the protection of North Sumatran fauna since 2010. The name of the project is taken from the local name for the Black and White Sumatran Laughingthrush – poksai, a species that was quite numerous in Sumatra a few years ago, but whose numbers are rapidly falling primarily due to traditional birding which is very fashionable in Indonesia.
