Caper Plant, an Underutilized Crop

Kapary, nevyužitá plodina

Within climate change scenarios, rarely used crops adapted to semi-arid habitats, such as caper plant (Capparis spinosa L.) may be interesting alternative crops. In Portugal, caper was occasionally cultivated as an ornamental plant. Rare testimonies in Portuguese herbaria and a brief history about Caper’s culinary and industrial uses are explored here.
